Needs of Me

Break me down
make me come undone
burn me up
that I may rise from the ashes.

Take me apart
piece by piece
that I might once again
simply
be.
Cover my eyes and make me blind
so that I can see clearly once again.
Be the keeper of my sight
that I may rest upon your might.
Tie me up
so that I can be free.
Clip my wings
and watch me fly.
Cause me pain
so that I can cry.
 Kiss away my tears
as you walk me through my fears
Brush away my objections
and all these silly collections of preconceived notions
as we wander through the years.
Lock me up tight
so that I fear not the things in the night.
Keep me close
that I may not wander far from home.
Tear me down
and lift me up.
Make me breathe
so that I can be
me.

    1. Fondles,
I hope it was a good weep...? I'm glad you liked it.
I'm no good at expressing needs, but apparently they flow fairly well in print!

  4. Very poetic.
My un-poetic mind says at the first line: Oh, please, don't break her down. We want to keep her!

    1. Bas,
I believe that sometimes we rebuild things. Ourselves, relationships, a single day even. And sometimes we have to tear down existing walls in order to rebuild them into something else.
I think that, like many words, the connotation depends on our personal interpretations. And yes, generally breaking something down is a bad thing. But sometimes it's just creating necessary cracks in the walls.
I'm a wall expert, can you tell lol.

I may have been accused of being overly expressive on occasion lol.
