Punishment Book

You know how sometimes you have an idea, and that brain-to-mouth filter (amazingly), kicks in, and tells you that it's really not a good idea? Then you sit on it for a while but it keeps coming back until one day, against your better judgement, you tell them your idea?

I started the sentence around four days ago. I actually finished it yesterday.
He raised his eyebrows, asked me quietly if I knew exactly what that would mean, and then proceeded to tell me that ideas were like a can of worms--once opened there's no shoving them back in, and no I couldn't take it back.

Oops.

Here's the thing though--I have rules (reasonable rules at that)...And a really crappy short term memory. So I forget things...And he doesn't want to spend all his time monitoring me. Then I feel like he doesn't care if I do as I'm told or not. Then I forget again and he feels like I don't even try. And and and...

So, against my brain's better judgement, my mouth opened and raised the idea of a rule book. Okay, not so much a rule book, as a punishment book. Yes, I'm slightly obsessed with books, and said obsession might have expressed itself in a rather dangerous way lol.

His response was, "You realize that means you will be responsible for making a note every time you break a rule, and bringing the list to me?" Ummm...Crap. "Yes, I realize that. Can I take it back now?" He laughed at me! "No, you may not take it back."

So I found a notebook...And he said he didn't think it was big enough (plenty big enough for the rules, there's not that many, but a little small for listing transgressions). Apparently he had something more along the lines of a ledger...

I am so screwed. And as usual, I did it to myself!
Damn malfunctioning brain-to-mouth filter.

  1. Punishment book sounds kind of sexy. Until suddenly you realize it's a very bad idea. Especially bad when you suggest it. Tsk.

I seem to be pretty god at coming up with bad ideas. Ahem.

  2. Removable pages, that is your only recourse. I have that brain to mouth disease too. I hate it.

    1. Thanks sunnygirl--now he says it has to have non-removable pages lol.

      Do you think it's contagious?

    1. Lea,
I figure that if I really want to be held responsible for my actions, it's worth a try...I'll probably be back to complain about it soon lol.

  4. Swiss cheese memory, faulty brain to mouth filter... This sounds really familiar, if i could just remember why?

BTW, when you find a repair shop that will work on out of warranty brain to mouth filters, I will pay you for the location (even though the idea of the book is kind of hot).

    1. Monkey,
The repair shop...The problem there lies in remembering where it was located for long enough to pass on the directions lol.

    1. I have a book (not a log book but a book to do punishments in), and I've misplaced it. Sir is just tallying up the minutes, but I suppose he'll run out of patience eventually...

    2. dancingbarez,
I'm putting my faith in the fact that I value books of all kinds so intensely that it will not go the way of the shopping list...Wherever that went...

  7. *snicker* Mine does that to me too. I need to learn not to bring up punishment ideas, rule ideas, and more. XD

    Yes, you are so screwed.

Oh you are excessively, oops, I mean exceptionally, helpful aren't you?
Sigh. He didn't like it because (thanks to sunnygirl), it can't be a book with pages that can be torn out.
      Lol.

  9. *shakes head* on the bright side...yeah well im still thinking on that! lol

I dont have a book but i am expected to inform him if i do behave in a way i know he wouldnt like or i do something im not allowed to do, i hated this as first but it taught me to take responsibility for what i have done and most of all respect for him.

Its not easy having to go to him and ask for punishment but when i do afterwards i feel better about it, i find it harder when he decides that something i have done should be punished and i disagree.

I think that being more accountable will help me...And since I have a swiss cheese brain, theoretically, this will help us both.
Though I have this feeling that he is going to find it far more helpful than I will lol.

  10. Try to use small writing in that book. otherwise it will cost you fortunes in new Ledgers.
Cannot you go digital? Automatic classification, numbers of spanks calculation etc.
Why ever would you think up such silly things like punishmentbooks?
Now, he has a problem too. Whenever he sees pages full of transgressions, he will have to find a suitable punishment. Where do you start with such a thing? Poor man.

See, I like to think that by the time I'm done with one, I won't need them anymore.
Digital..Thanks for that btw--it inspired him to wonder if I should start a blog just for that. Hmpph.

He appreciates your sympathies I'm sure.
      Lol. Poor man indeed!

  11. Oh dear.

I was sitting here wondering if I knew you well enough to call you a noodlehead...and decided against it. :)

I like sunnygirl's idea. Removable pages.

    This will be good though...right?

Oh, with a post like this, there's no need for familiarity to call someone a noodlehead lol.

It's supposed to be good...I think.

  12. We don't have a book either, but I've also always felt compelled to tell Ward when I've broken one of our few rules, to not so would be...... (no I wasn't going to say self-preservation) .... dishonest... yeah, that's it, lol.

Some of the comments gave me the giggles.

I feel like this will make for more official accountability if that makes any sense. I have to do it, and he has to do something about it.

Yes, I can see myself referring back to these comments on a rainy day when I need a grin lol.

Sometimes in thinking of ways to proactive and furthering our submission we back ourselves into a corner. Think of it as a different way to journal...
