Questions and (maybe) Answers

The thing I like about March, (besides that it signals an imminent end to the bitter cold misery of winter) is that it's question and answer month here in Blogland.
I have no idea who came up with the concept, but I like it. Especially since I have been running low on inspiration lately.

So, if anyone has any questions, (or answers) now is as good a time as any!

If you are bringing answers, here are a few things I would like to know:

Why are my children so interested in doing the opposite of what they are told?
Why am I so temperature intolerant that both winter and mid-summer kick my ass?
Why are chickens more scary than bears?
Why do I always feel the need to ask why?

    1. Jz,
I have a theory why they are so scary--because they fly at your face and try to gauge your eyes out with their vicious talons while attempting to peck your brains out with their monstrous beaks!
Can you tell it happened to me? Lol.

  3. Why are chickens more scary than bears?

Because you have never been mauled by a bear and a chicken at the same time.

    1. ksst,
LOL--yes well, I suppose that in comparison, the chicken mauling is probably far less deadly. Though, it might be the slower death...

  4. Round here I am more likely to see a chicken, any bear has escaped from a zoo or something. Though of course chickens can peck you, oh I don't know!

Plus even though my child is grown up I still don't understand why they do the opposite of what they are told! He is starting to tell me about his take on his childhood which is both pleasing and scary at the same time!

    1. Joolz,
We have plenty of bears...The chickens are somewhat new to me, but still far more intimidating.

Ooh, yea...I'm not sure I want to hear my kids take on thier childhood down the road lol.

  5. LoL Lil, chickens scare me too. I think they arf scarier because you have more chance of coming accross a chicken than a bear!

The age old parental dilema. Just because they can? I don't know.

I share the other two with you. No answers I'm afraid.

    1. Roz,
believe it or not, I have seen a lot more chickens than bears...None of the bears tried to kill me (I suppose my current ability to blog proves that lol).

  6. The first question I can answer: Because it's more fun and they want to know why you are telling them not to do something. Aren't we the same.

    2. Cause you are a fair weather person.

    3. Don't know.

    4. See question #1.

  7. I did not know that March was questions and answers month...gosh this community needs a monthly newsletter lol..nope im not volunteering!

The only possible answer i have to number 1 is that its the old scenario of wanting what they cant have, the more something is deemed unattainable the more it is wanted...i know that feeling well as an adult.

I love chickens especially on my plate with roast potatoes..yummy

The need to ask why is perfectly healthy.....i like explanations and answers...maybe its a female trait?

Yes, chickens are soo much more appealing cooked up lol. Though, they don't tend to lay as many eggs...

    1. Mp,
lol, I think you're right--I have seen plenty of bears, and none of them have ever chased me around trying to kill me.
The same cannot be said for chickens...

  9. Your children (just like mine) want to push the envelope. They want to see just how far they can go without getting "too" punished.
Chickens and bears, o he'll yeah, chickens are way scarier. They move faster and they don't make eye contact. Just kill 'em and fry 'em up!
Temperature? Duh, most of us want it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. However I like the change of seasons. About the time I want to claw my eyes out with a spoon because I'm so hot, the weather changes to cooler temperatures. It's the same from winter to spring. I do wish we could have longer fall and spring temps.
Why? Because you're intelligent and inquiring mind want to know...

    1. s.t,
lol--when we first got them, the little one wanted to know why we couldn't eat them. Now, if you mention frying one up he gets all mad and protective. For some reason, they accept him as one of their own and haven't tried to kill him once!

I do wish spring could be a year-long season...

  10. Question for you: how old are you? Your kids (the ones who want to do the opposite of what they're supposed to do)?
