Oh to live in bed...

To live in bed...Sounds like a sexy sentiment doesn't it?
Nope. Not this time.

Due to the brilliance of universal timing, Alpha's end of smoking (and my drastic reduction) coincided exactly with the (early) onset of my period.

Is there ever a more inconvenient time to be the parent of children who are to young to run away?

I'm irritated with blogger because all the background pictures I drool over are to big to upload. And once I shrink them, they fit funny.

And I still can't find the "Best chocolate cake recipe in the world."
Unfortunately, Alpha had a point when he laughed at me and said "You think you can just Google it?" So far I have made it about 17 pages in, and they all look just about the same as the recipe I'm bored with.

Living in bed is sounding better and better. Which is why I'm not answering the question I have waiting instead of sitting here complaining--brain's malfunctioning something fierce.
I will get to it sometime soon. Promise.

Did I mention that I tried a new chocolate cake recipe, and it is definitely not the worlds best? In fact, I have no interest in ever making it again lol.
*Sigh*
Trying new things is so overrated.

    1. tori,
well, he's on day 3 without any, I'm down to 3 a day, the kids are still alive, and we have established that the light at the end of the tunnel is a train waiting to run my ass over. So all in all, not too bad lol.

I have a good cake recipe, but it is a bit dryer than I would like...But when my search concludes at something close to "best" I'll share!

  3. This is a cupcake version http://senatorrecommends.blogspot.com/2012/10/vegan-salted-caramel-mocha-cupcakes.html but it can be made into a cake. I've learned that instant coffee helps boost the flavor and the moistness pretty nicely.

Let me know how it goes!

  4. It is 8:25 pm and I'm seriously thinking of going to bed. That would mean missing out on cuddling on the couch with Master, if he would even let me to go bed now. So tired...

  7. You know if you stay in bed too long you get bed sores. LOL

I am not a baker but I love moist cake and not especially icing. My daughter's MIL gave her this recipe, it's easy and choclately. It starts out with a dark chocolate cake mix (don't laugh, not all of us are as talented as you), add a carton of sour cream, a package of chocolate pudding mix (powdered) a package of dark chocolate chocolate chips.
    Bake and eat.

The chocolate definitely helps with the reduced nicotene. Happy days.

I won't laugh--and my recipe for the cookie exchange this year will be provided with you in mind.

Unfortunately, have to work our way through the crappy cake in the fridge before trying more...But chocolate is chocolate!
